Mental Health & Grief Support
Care for currently enrolled students
As some of you may know, in light of the recent Coronavirus outbreak, out of an abundance of caution, NewYork-Presbyterian is moving as many of our visits as possible to video visits. In order to use video visits, patients need to install the MyChart app on their phones. We help them do this by sending personalized links to patients 12 and older or to parents/guardians of children under 12. Some clinicians may reach out to you and your staff requesting contact information for students. This is for the purpose of making sure that we can continue to take care of the health needs of enrolled students.
Universal support for school community
The mental health clinicians have also been working on developing a google classroom that can be accessed by all of you, your students and their families. We have added educational materials, information on coping skills, resources and will continue to add to it throughout this crisis. We will also have contributions from our medical director and nutritionist. Our goal is to provide support, education and guidance to all of our school communities in a broad way.
Here is the code to the SBHC Emotional Wellness Resources Google classroom: imxckmg
With this code, students and their families can sign into their google account, go to the google classroom and join the class using that code.
