Mr. Andrew Peterson, Science Educator

Mr. Peterson is a high school science educator at the Eagle Academy for Young Men of Harlem.  He completed his undergraduate degree in chemistry and his Master's degree in chemistry education from the City University of New York at City College. Mr. Peterson has been teaching science for five years and is excited to be a founding member of Eagle Academy Harlem's High School. 

He was born and raised in Buffalo, NY, and has called Harlem his home for the past nine years. Mr. Peterson spent many years as a chef in Portland and NYC before entering the education field. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, playing music, cooking, and spending time with family.

Mr. Shahid Wright, Science Educator

Mr. Wright is the 6th-grade science educator at Eagle Harlem. He is an Eagle Alum and excited to work with the young men of Eagle Harlem. Mr. Wright was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. He received his undergraduate degree in Childhood Education with a concentration in Science. Mr. Wright enjoys traveling, music, learning new things and spending time with loved ones. As a product of his environment, he expects only the best from his students and has high expectations for his students and school community. 


Ms. Sarah Trexler, Science Educator

Ms. Sarah Trexler is a high science educator at Eagle Academy of Harlem. This is her sixth year at the Eagle Academy for Young Men of Harlem. Originally from Philadelphia, she studied education at Manhattan College in the Bronx and is excited to call New York City her new home. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and reading. She is also very excited about working with the sixth graders throughout this school year!

Ms. Ramsha Farooq, Science Educator

Ms. Farooq is a middle school science educator at the Eagle Academy for the Young Men of Harlem. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Stony Brook University. Ms. Farooq found a passion for the classroom while she worked with second graders as a teaching assistant in an elementary school in Brooklyn. 

Ms. Farooq is a native New Yorker so she is excited and beyond jubilant to be working with the young men of Eagle Harlem. She hopes to create an environment that instills confidence and inspires her students to enjoy learning. In her free time, Ms. Farooq enjoys running and reading classics.
