Global Language Project - Deepening Discourse: Language Learning Leadership

posted Jun 22, 2018, 9:33 AM by Assistant Principal Landivar
We believe that learning a world language is no longer a luxury; it is a necessary skill that students must have in order to compete in a global economy.

Deepening Discourse is a yearlong series of professional development opportunities designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of K-12 world language teachers.

During the 2018-2019 school year, we will enroll a cohort of 40 teachers. The full year program will include four full-day workshops and five webinars, led by nationally recognized instructors of world language teaching such as Nathan Lutz and Jennifer Eddy; as well as their peers.

Teachers in the series have the opportunity to impact their own practice and to make an impact on other teachers by actively strengthen the network of language teachers in New York City.

Admission

For the 2018-2019 school year, 40 applicants will be admitted to the full series. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Once accepted, there is a one-time registration fee of $500 for the entire year. Application fee includes breakfast and lunch each workshop day. If your application is received before July 15th you will receive a discounted rate of $450. See detailed program schedule @More Information
