Grade Team 10

Ms. Audrey Meade, Humanities Educator

Ms. Meade is currently the 10th grade ELA teacher at Eagle Harlem.  She was born in upstate New York and moved to the Bronx at age 7 where she grew up and was raised by her grandmother. She graduated from Lehman College with a double major in English and Psychology for her undergraduate degree and a Masters in 7-12 English Education. Before joining Eagle, Ms. Meade worked as a teacher in the Biondi Education Center at the Leake and Watts Orphanage for emotionally disturbed adolescents in Yonkers, Monsignor Scanlan High School, Alfred E. Smith CTE High School in the South Bronx where she was also a dean of discipline, and the International School of Liberal Arts located in the “Educational Mile” in Bedford Park.  She has worked as a teacher for thirteen years with two of those years serving as dean of discipline. Ms. Meade enjoys searching for scholars’ hidden talents and showing them how to succeed in the most aggressive city in the world and shine through adversity in order to be an irreplaceable force in their chosen walks of life.

Ms. Meade is excited and honored to be part of such a unique team of professionals who strive to nurture young men in a way that brings out the exceptional traits that they possess. She wants to share her love and respect for literature and expose the scholars to stories that will leave an imprint to guide them in their travels. She also wants to give them the opportunity to be creative and explore their individual gifts so that they may be better equipped to honor their purpose in life. Ms. Meade enjoys spending time reading and writing poetry and stories. She hopes, one day, to be an author.
