Mr. Shadrack Sakyi, Math Educator

Mr. Sakyi is the sixth-grade math educator. Prior to 2017, he served as the eighth-grade math educator. He is originally from Ghana, West Africa. He has lived in Brooklyn since immigrating to the United States in 2000. Mr. Sakyi is excited to begin his first year as an educator at the Eagle Academy. He graduated from Midwood High School and went on to earn a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics from Hunter College. Currently, he is pursuing a Master’s in Education at St. John’s University as a resident of the New York City Teacher’s Collaborative.

 In his spare time, he typically goes on long-distance bike rides, tinkering with computers and reading books. He also serves as Eagle Harlem’s Technology Coordinator.

Ms. Sarah Trexler, Science Educator
 Grade Team Leader

Ms. Sarah Trexler teaches sixth grade science. This is her fifth year at the Eagle Academy for Young Men. Originally from Philadelphia, she studied education at Manhattan College in the Bronx and is excited to call New York City her new home. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and reading. She is also very excited about working with the sixth graders throughout this school year!

Mr. Barbin Ramos, Math Educator
UFT Chapter Chair

Mr. Ramos is the sixth grade math teacher at Eagle Academy.  Born in the Dominican Republic and raised in the Bronx, he is a product of the New York City public school system.  He was a NYC Teaching Fellow and has a Bachelor’s Degree from Baruch College and a Master’s Degree from Hunter College.  Mr. Ramos has been teaching for 6 years.  After teaching various subjects in elementary and middle school, he is happy and excited to be teaching his favorite subject. In his spare time he enjoys traveling and practicing martial arts.
